Budget Planning Tips
1. Avoid unclear goals. Nobody can predict the cost of undefined project. Plan the job, do research on pricing, have a drawing of the plan, collect samples, before work begins.
2. Check contractor references. Most deadlines are not met because contractors do not do their jobs. Getting someone just because he has done a good job for a friend does not mean he will be just as reliable for you. Checking other clients will help you determine his work style and dependability.
3. Avoid making changes in the middle of the project. Changing your mind when things are in place requires tearing out and redoing finished work and this would add to your material and labor costs.
