Stowing away your ladders, Properly

//"ladderhanger"The last post tackled the safety aspect of ladders and their use, now we’d tackle the storage of such a wonderful tool that can be quite a security risk if left lying around the house. How often have you heard on the news that a burglary happens with the homeowner’s own ladder being used by the burglar for their dastardly acts. There are specific ladder stow-away hardware that allows you to either hang them horizontally or vertically with a provision for locks and chains to prevent unauthorized use. They can be hung in the garage and still locked to prevent break-ins on the upper levels of the home which are more often than not left with open windows and doors.
There is also a safety aspect to stowing them away, for as we know kids these days, they tend to be more adventurous than we were and ladders being a curiosity for them they will surely try to get onto one if they get a chance. If you have kids, the best storage option would be on the horizontal side so they can’t use it to reach for stuff where in they may fall. Keep them well away from their reach to prevent them from hurting themselves, often using them as toys, which they surely are not. Knowing these simple ladder safety, you and your family will be safer knowing that they are stowed away properly and safely, for use when needed. Keep safe, and more safety tips plus more in the coming posts.
